New Delhi, November 19
The Delhi High Court on Thursday came down heavily on the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government over it’s the management of the coronavirus pandemic.
The court also questioned the timing of the AAP government’s order restricting the number of people at weddings.
“Why wait till now to reduce the number of attendees at weddings,” the court said.
The court said: “Why did you wait for 18 days to restrict the number of attendees at weddings, how many died of COVID-19 during this period.”
“You were shaken out of slumber, you turned turtle after we asked questions,” said the court.
The court noted that the quantum of fine for not wearing masks and not maintaining social distancing does not appear to be a deterrent. PTI
