A 19-year-old Hyderabad boy lost his life after allegedly falling from a high-rise apartment building in Toronto, Canada, according to his family.

The boy, Panyam Akhil, was talking over the phone when he allegedly fell from the 27th floor.

He was a resident of Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad. His family was informed about the incident through his friends on November 8.

Akhil was doing a hotel management course in Canada. He completed his first year, and visited home in March this year. He headed back to Canada after the lockdown started easing out.

Akhil’s family have appealed to Telangana Minister K.T. Rama Rao to help them in bringing the body to Hyderabad. Akhil’s uncle, Babji, took to the microblogging website in order to request for help.

“My brother’s son, Panyam Akhil, met with an accidental fall in Toronto, Canada. We are clueless, as to how to go about bringing the body to Hyderabad. Request help in bringing the body to Hyderabad. Kindly, help us in this moment of grief, sir,” wrote Babji.

In response, K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), the Telangana Rashtra Samithi working president, and son of the chief minister, wrote responded, saying “sorry for your loss brother, will do our best @KTRoffice please assist”.

At the same time, the Consulate General in Toronto responded, saying that “all concerned efforts” are being made.

“The Indian Consulate in Toronto is in touch with all concerned and efforts are on for expeditious return of mortal the remains,” read his post.

Tragic accident:

In another tragic incident, six people died, and three were left injured on the Outer Ring Road after two vehicles collided.

Vehicle from Uttar Pradesh, that had 10 passengers on board, was hit by another vehicle, that was trying to overtake.

Six people died on the spot.

Police said, that they were all returning from Bengaluru. They suspect over-speeding to be the reason behind the accident.

Investigations are on.
