UP govt orders judicial probe into Kanpur ambush, Vikas Dubey’s encounter

Lucknow, July 12

The Uttar Pradesh authorities has ordered a judicial inquiry into the July three ambush in Bikru village whereby eight policemen had been killed and in addition the July 10 encounter killing of most important accused Vikas Dubey close to Kanpur, officers sources stated on Sunday.

The probe can be headed by Justice Shashikant Agarwal (retd) with its headquarters in Kanpur. The probe report can be submitted inside two months.

The probe may also cowl the encounters of criminals executed by police throughout this era.

Six criminals, together with Dubey, had been killed in these encounters between July three and July 10.

According to an official launch, the judicial fee may also examine the police-criminals nexus to verify recurrence of such incidents in future.

The fee has been tasked to counsel measures to cease such nexus from growing.

The state authorities arrange a Special Investigation Team headed by Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Bhoosreddy on Saturday to probe the police position within the July three incident. — IANS
