BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti on Friday appealed to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to allow media persons and opposition party leaders to meet the aggrieved family of Hathras gangrape victim.

Taking to Twitter, she said she was admitted to AIIMS Rishikesh currently and today was her seventh day in the hospital and hence she couldn’t appear in the special CBI court on Ayodhya case.

She expressed apprehension at the manner in which the police have laid siege to the village and the victim’s family.

“She was a daughter of a Dalit family. She was cremated by the police in a hurry and now the family are under siege,” she said in Hindi.

Bharti said that there was no such rule that the family could not meet anyone in the SIT investigation.

She said we have just laid the foundation stone of Ram temple and have claimed to bring Ram Rajya to the country.

“I request you to allow media persons and other political parties to meet the aggrieved family,” she added.

She said she was very nervous in the corona ward. If she had not been corona positive, she would have been sitting with that family in that village.

“When I leave AIIMS Rishikesh, I will definitely meet the victim’s family in Hathras,” she wrote.
