Two J&Ok cops shot on Independence Day eve

Amid tight safety forward of Independence Day, militants killed two policemen on the busy Nowgam street on metropolis outskirts right this moment.

The J&Ok Police stated two suspected militants opened hearth at policemen deployed on routine safety obligation inside a lane on the Nowgam bypass, leaving three wounded. “The three were shifted to hospital where two succumbed,” stated a police officer. The two slain policemen had been recognized as Ishfaq Ayoub of Maloora, Srinagar, and Fayaz Ahmed of Devsar, Kulgam. IGP (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar stated Jaish-e-Mohammed was behind the assault. “The militants involved will be neutralised soon,” stated Kumar, including there was an “input about possible attacks ahead of Independence Day”. This is the second assault on safety forces within the Valley previously three days. On Wednesday, a soldier was injured when militants attacked an Army fast response crew at Hygam alongside the Srinagar-Baramulla nationwide freeway. — TNS
