Two arrested in reference to Sudiksha Bhati’s demise case: Police

Two individuals have been arrested in reference to the demise of a 20-year-old scholar right here, police mentioned on Sunday.

Sudiksha Bhati, who hailed from Deri Scanar village in Gautam Buddh Nagar’s Dadri, died on August 10 in a highway crash in Bulandshahr district whereas she was pillion using a bike along with her youthful cousin, a minor.

Police mentioned they arrested the 2 individuals—Deepak Choudhary and Raju—on the idea of CCTV footage.

Sudiksha, an academically shiny scholar, was pursuing a commencement course in entrepreneurship at Babson College, Massachusetts (US), on a scholarship and was scheduled to return on August 20.

Her household has alleged that the highway crash occurred as a result of two unidentified motorcycle-borne males had been “following” her two-wheeler and harassing her, whereas police mentioned that some individuals had been “trying to twist the narrative of the incident”.

“It appears that after the body reached her Deri Scanar village, some people tried to twist the narrative of the incident. Since the girl had got a huge scholarship package (for studying in the US), there could have been a thought of demand (for compensation) in the people,” Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh had mentioned on Thursday. — PTI
