Srinagar, July 25
Two militants, together with a neighborhood Lashkar-e-Toiba commander, had been killed and a soldier was injured in a gunfight on the town outskirts immediately, police stated.
The encounter began at Ranbirgarh, Panzinara, when joint groups of safety forces had been finishing up a cordon and search operation following inputs about militant presence. “As the presence of terrorists got ascertained, they were given the opportunity to surrender. However, they opened indiscriminate fire at the joint search team, which was retaliated to. In the ensuing encounter, two terrorists were killed,” a police spokesman stated.
A senior J&Ok police officer recognized one of many slain militants as Lashkar commander Ishfaq Rashid, a resident of Sozeith, Srinagar. “He was active since 2018 and wanted in many cases,” the officer stated. The different militant was recognized as Aijaz Bhat, a resident of Kakapora, Pulwama. Bhat was lively since June 2019.
Meanwhile, the Army immediately recovered arms, together with a Soviet-era sniper rifle, in Baramulla’s Gulmarg sector. — TNS
