The Ministry of Defence has moved to alter the sample for appointing navy and civilian officers on essential administrative posts on the armed forces headquarters.
A high-level committee has been set as much as establish which posts on the administrative stage required solely staff with navy expertise.
This is according to the suggestions of a committee of consultants to boost fight functionality and re-balance defence expenditure of the forces. The different side studied by the panel was utilisation of civilian staff posted on the armed forces headquarters (AFHQ).

- Which administrative posts are occupied by civilian employees, however require navy subject expertise
- Will work together with branches of providers’ HQ, inter-service organisations
- Will collate information on authorised & precise power of AFHQ in respective providers
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has okayed establishing of the committee headed by Lt Gen DB Shekatkar (retd). Two different members on the panel are R Chandrashekhar, a former AFHQ cadre officer, and AN Das from the MoD finance wing.
The committee will conduct a research and establish such appointments within the three providers which may be throughout the area of the AFHQ civilian employees. It can even establish posts on the headquarters the place civilian officers had been posted regardless of the positions requiring solely these with strict navy subject expertise.
The panel has been tasked to work together with varied branches and directorates of the providers’ headquarters of the MoD and the inter-service organisations for endeavor the research and submit a report of its suggestions by the primary week of October.
The scope of the research shall be to collate information on authorised and precise power of the AFHQ officers within the respective providers.
It can even gather information on brigadier-level officers of the armed forces posted within the administration, finance, coverage formulation, coordination, personnel administration, coaching, vigilance, authorized wings and land and works.
