Supreme Court Bar Association president Dushyant Dave resigned on Thursday, stating he had forfeited his right to continue as the leader of the bar association.
In his brief letter, he said: “Following recent events, I feel that I have forfeited my right to continue as your leader.”
Noting that the tenure of the Executive Committee of the SCBA had already ended, Dave in his brief letter stated that it might not be possible to hold virtual elections as per schedule “due to reservations held by some lawyers”.
Dave had recently represented a few farmer unions before the Supreme Court in the case of constitutional challenge to the three farm acts.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday had put a stay on the three farm laws.
