State Vigilance Bureau ‘verifying’ grievance towards Himachal minister

Shimla, August 20

The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau of Himachal Pradesh is reportedly verifying a grievance concerning the acquisition of a piece of land by relations of a minister within the Jai Ram Thakur Cabinet.

The bureau will verify the authenticity of the allegations concerning “irregularities” within the buy of the land. Sources stated the Vigilance Bureau had sought permission for initiating a preliminary inquiry beneath Section 17(a).

The matter is more likely to be raised by the Opposition throughout the monsoon session of the Assembly that commences on September 7. However, sources within the Vigilance Department refused to verify if any such permission had been sought. — TNS
