Soldier killed in truce violation in J-K’s Kupwara

Pakistan’s troops shelled Indian posts in Kashmir’s Kupwara and Jammu’s Poonch on Saturday, killing one soldier, defence sources mentioned.

The soldier was killed when Pakistan used medium mortar’s to shell posts at Kupwara’s Nowgam, the sources mentioned.

Two different troopers had been additionally wounded within the shelling.  Both troopers are steady, sources mentioned.

Pakistan has been intermittently shelling Indian posts alongside the Line of Control at Poonch since Saturday morning.

A defence spokesperson mentioned there was firing and intense mortar shelling from Pakistan troops in Shahpur, Kirni and Degwar sectors intermittently on Saturday—first within the morning after which later within the night.

The assault was unprovoked, the defence spokesperson mentioned, including that the Indian Army had given them a “befitting reply”.
