Robbers return to ask ATM card pin, held after gunfight with Noida cops

Noida (UP), July 23

Two motorcycle-borne males who have been fleeing after robbing the cell phone and pockets of a person have been held right here following a gunfight with the police, officers stated on Thursday.

The incident occurred Wednesday night time on a street close to Garhi Chaukhandi village beneath Phase-Three police station limits, Central Noida Deputy Commissioner of Police Harish Chander stated.

“The accused were fleeing after robbing the mobile phone and wallet of a man, who was out for dinner, at gunpoint. There was some cash, driver’s license, Aadhaar card and an ATM card in the wallet of the victim. After going to some distance, the robbers returned to the victim to ask for the pin code of his ATM card and then fled again,” he stated.

The matter was instantly reported to the native police station and relayed on the police community and the duo was intercepted at a safety test within the space, the officer stated.

 “When asked to stop for checking, they opened fire on the police team and sped away. They were chased by the policemen and the duo got injured in retaliatory firing after which they were held and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment,” DCP Chander stated.

Those held have been recognized as Gaurav Singh and Sadanand, each locals round 25 years of age, and the objects robbed by them, together with the pockets with Rs 3,200 and the ATM card, have been recovered, the police stated.

Two country-made pistols have been additionally seized from their possession and their bike has been impounded, whereas additional proceedings are being carried out on the Phase Three police station, they added. PTI
