Rijiju: Taken up subject of lacking youths with PLA

Kolkata, September 6

The Indian Army has contacted China’s PLA concerning 5 youths in its custody. “The Army has sent a hotline message to the PLA establishment at the border point in Arunachal Pradesh. Response is awaited (sic)”, Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and LS member from Arunachal (West), tweeted on Sunday.

The youths, all residents of Upper Subansiri district, had been taken away by PLA troopers close to Nacho. Apparently employed by the Army as porters, they had been out fishing after work.

Meanwhile, Indian and Chinese militaries on Sunday held one other spherical of talks in jap Ladakh. The almost four-hour brigade commander-level interplay close to Chushul couldn’t produce any tangible final result. — TNS
