Punjab receives Rs 638 crore from Centre as post-devolution income deficit grant

Punjab on Friday acquired Rs 638 crore from the Centre as post-devolution Revenue Deficit Grant.

This is the primary grant from Centre acquired by the money strapped state throughout this fiscal.

The Union Finance Ministry on Wednesday had introduced launch of third month-to-month installment of Rs 6,195 crore to 14 states together with Punjab to offer further sources throughout COVID-19 disaster.

The Ministry had launched related quantity on April three and May 11 as the primary and second installments of the put up devolution income deficit grant to 14 states—Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
