Punjab Cabinet Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa examined optimistic for the novel coronavirus on Tuesday, the primary minister within the state to contract the an infection, a well being official mentioned.

The Rural Development and Panchayats minister had undergone a COVID-19 final Friday after his division’s director examined optimistic for the illness.

The samples of Bajwa, who can also be the upper schooling minister, had been collected for the second time after the primary report had come unfavourable on Saturday.

“He (Bajwa) has tested positive for coronavirus,” Health Department Director Avneet Kaur mentioned right here. “His samples were collected again on Tuesday and his report confirmed him to be positive.” — PTI
