A group of protesting farmers on Thursday removed police barricades at the Shahjahanpur-Khera Border in Rajasthan to move towards Delhi. They were, however, intercepted by police at the next row of barricades.

Tension prevailed as the protesters wanted to go ahead but the police did not let them move.

Rewari SP Abhishek Jorwal, along with heavy police force, is on the spot.

Farmers removed the second row of barricades as well and moved towards Delhi in more than 10 tractor-trailers.

The protesters started from Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh in Rajasthan.

“The police also used teargas to stop the protesters but to no avail,” said Rakesh Arya, leader of All India Kisan Sabha. He added that the protesters inlcude more than 100 farmers.

Thousands of farmers are staying put at the border and waiting for directions from the leadership of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha for the future course of action.
