People’s Liberation Army ‘abducts’ 5 Arunachal youths, probe on

Kolkata, September 5

The Arunachal Pradesh Police have launched a probe after it was alleged the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) had kidnapped 5 youths from the state in Upper Subansiri district alongside the China border.

The youths, all residents of the district, had gone right into a jungle, close to Nacho, on Friday to hold hundreds for the Army as employed porters. After their job, they had been out fishing when PLA troopers reportedly picked them up.

Lt Col Harsh Wardhan Pande, a spokesperson for the Army’s Tezpur-headquartered 4 Corps, which oversees operations in Arunachal Pradesh, stated they had been ascertaining the “veracity of the incident”. The households have urged authorities to take steps to carry them again. — TNS
