Out on morning stroll, BJP chief shot at by militants in Kashmir’s Budgam district

Srinagar, August 9

A BJP chief was injured on Sunday morning when militants fired at him in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, the police mentioned.

Abdul Hamid Najar of Ompora, BJP’s OBC district president Budgam, was on a morning stroll when the unknown militants fired at him.

“Najar was injured in the attack and was shifted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, for treatment,” a police officer mentioned. “He was allotted secured accommodation and had slipped away from there,” he added.

Soon after the assault, safety forces cordoned the world to hint the attackers.

This is the third assault in lower than every week on a BJP chief in Kashmir. On August four night, Arif Ahmad, a panch and a BJP chief, was critically injured when militants fired at him close to his residence at Akhran Qazigund. Arif is now battling for his life. On the morning of August 6, Sajad Ahmad Khanday, a sarpanch affiliated with BJP, was shot lifeless exterior his residence at Vessu in Kulgam district.

Gunfight beneath method in Kulgam

Meanwhile, a gunfight is beneath method between militants and the safety forces in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.  

The gunfight broke at Sighanpor Kulgam when a joint workforce of forces launched a cordon and search operation within the space following an enter about militant presence

“As the joint team of forces cordoned the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter,” a police officer in Kulgam mentioned, including that the operation remains to be happening.
