Nod to inexperienced crackers on Diwali

Chandigarh, November 10

The Punjab Government today announced a two-hour window for bursting green crackers on Diwali and Gurpurb across the state, except Mandi Gobindgarh.

Residents in the industrial town have been barred from bursting crackers till November 30 on account of its poor air quality. Four major cities — Amritsar, Jalandhar, Khanna and Ludhiana that too fall in the “poor” air quality category — have been spared the ban. Residents can burst green crackers from 8 pm to 10 pm on Diwali.
