The BJP today slammed the LJP, saying there was no place in politics for a ‘vote katua’ party and advised LJP chief Chirag Paswan to stop “firing from BJP’s shoulders.”
Party spokesperson Sambit Patra said: “There is no B-team or C-team. We are fighting these elections with the JD-U, the VIP and HAM(S) against the unholy RJD-Congress alliance.”
He accused the LJP chief of lying and misleading Bihar voters. “I am disappointed and sad at BJP’s ‘vote katua’ accusation evidently made at CM Nitish Kumar’s behest,” said Chirag, reiterating that he had “complete faith” in the Prime Minister.
Bhupender Yadav, BJP general secretary in charge of Bihar affairs, and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar called Chirag’s comments on Nitish and the JD-U “unfortunate”. Chirag has repeatedly spoken of a BJP CM, triggering speculation if the LJP was part of the saffron party’s ‘Plan B’ to “wipe out the JD-U”.
