Two individuals stole over Rs 22 lakh from an ATM after blowing it up with explosives in Madhya Pradesh’s Panna district within the wee hours of Sunday, police mentioned.
They held the ATM’s guard at gunpoint whereas committing the theft, the police mentioned.
The incident passed off on the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of a nationalised financial institution in Simaria city, about 60 km from the district headquarters.
“Two unidentified motorcycle-borne individuals robbed a State Bank of India (SBI) ATM at round 2 am at this time after blowing it up utilizing explosives, Superintendent of Police Mayank Awasthi advised reporters.
He mentioned based on financial institution officers, the ATM had Rs 22 lakh to Rs 23 lakh, which the robbers took away.
“We have began a search operation to nab the robbers and can arrest them quickly, the official mentioned.
The ATM’s guard, Sukhendra Choudhary, advised reporters that two individuals, who arrived on a black bike at round 2 am, pushed him and one in all them later held him at gunpoint earlier than they blew up the machine.
