Mohali courtroom points arrest warrant towards Punjab ex-DGP Sumedh Saini

A Mohali courtroom on Saturday issued an arrest warrant towards former DGP Sumedh Singh Saini within the Multani kidnapping and homicide case.

In the previous two days, the SIT has raided numerous locations, together with Shimla, his native village, Delhi and Chandigarh, however Saini was not discovered at any of those locations.

Saini on Friday had moved the Supreme Court after the Punjab and Haryana High Court dismissed his bail petition.

Saini and 6 different cops had been booked in a 29-year-old case of the alleged kidnapping, torture and stage-managed elimination of Balwant Singh Multani, son of former IAS officer Darshan Singh Multani.

Balwant, the sufferer, was accused of finishing up an assault on Saini when he was the Chandigarh SSP on December 11, 1991. He, together with Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar — a convict in a Delhi bomb blast case — and two others, was booked however the police later claimed that Balwant escaped from the custody of Qadian police.
