Chandigarh, August 9

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday mentioned that the Ministry of Defence will introduce an import embargo on 101 objects, past the given timeline, to spice up indigenisation of defence manufacturing.

Singh termed the transfer as a “big step towards self-reliance in defence”.

In a collection of tweets, Singh mentioned that the Ministry took inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “clarion call for a self-reliant India based on the five pillars, i.e., Economy, Infrastructure, System, Demography & Demand”.
