Mamata publicizes candidate for 291 Bengal seats; to contest from Nandigram

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday announced the candidate list for 291 seats out of the total 294 constituencies.

Addressing a press conference, Mamata said that she would file nomination on March 10 and have decided to fight from Nandigram only. Remaining three seats in Darjeeling will be contested by the TMC allies.

“We have given assembly poll tickets to eminent personalities from the field of arts, sports, media and culture, she said.

“23-24 existing TMC MLAs have been dropped due to age and other reasons,” said Mamata.

Mamata said: “Have faith in me, only TMC can take Bengal to new heights,” adding that, “After we come to power, we will create Vidhan Parishad to accommodate senior and experienced leaders.” with PTI alerts
