Srinagar, July 9
The J&Okay Police in the present day stated the Lashkar-e-Toiba was behind the killing of BJP chief Wasim Bari, his father and brother in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district yesterday, calling it a “pre-planned” assault.
“A Pakistan militant and local ultra Abid of the LeT were involved in the killing,” stated IGP (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar. The police have arrested all 10 private safety officers of the slain chief and determined to dismiss them from service. “It was a lapse on their part. They will be dismissed soon,” he stated.
The IGP stated from the CCTV footage, it appeared the assault was pre-planned because the militants had stored a detailed watch on Bari’s motion. Bari was a member of the BJP state govt committee, whereas his father and brother had been office-bearers of the occasion. — TNS
