Haryana to introduce 50% quota for girls in Panchayati Raj Institutions

The Haryana Government on Thursday introduced a 50 per quota for girls within the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).

Announcing this right here, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, who additionally holds the Panchayat and Development portfolio, mentioned a Bill to amend the Panchayati Raj Act can be introduced within the forthcoming Monsoon session of the Haryana Assembly.

Chautala mentioned 50 per cent quota for girls fashioned part of the widespread minimal programme (CMP) of the BJP-JJP Government.

“The proposal would formally be brought before the Haryana Cabinet for approval soon,” he added.
