Haryana farmers pressured to pay for crop loss declare

A survey company allegedly duped farmers of Salhavaas and Majra D villages of hundreds of rupees on the pretext of offering them greater compensation below the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana.

The Department of Agriculture has filed a criticism in opposition to the company.

Crops, primarily bajra and cotton, unfold over 3,000 acres have been broken as a result of rain final month. The division had shaped a panel final week following complaints that the surveyors demanded Rs 1,000 per acre from farmers promising greater compensation. In case of non-payment, the surveyors threatened to understate the loss.

Inder Singh, Deputy Director (Agriculture), stated: “Since the inquiry has established the fraud, we now have sought an FIR in opposition to the company.”
