Five extra die in two Majha district, toll climbs to 117

With 5 extra deaths in Tarn Taran and Amritsar up to now 24 hours, the toll within the spurious liquor tragedy has mounted to 117. Three deaths had been reported in Tarn Taran and two in Jandiala Guru, Amritsar.

Villagers claimed that these concerned within the illicit liquor commerce had gone underground. They blamed the police for failing to behave in opposition to the bootleggers, some even alleging connivance. Jagjit Singh Walia, SP (D), Tarn Taran, mentioned the culprits wouldn’t be spared. The Amritsar (Rural) police busted three unlawful distilleries in Bhangwa, Chak Mishri Khan and Bhindi Saida villages and arrested 13 bootleggers. The Tarn Taran police booked 40 bootleggers and arrested 13 individuals.
