Ex-TMC chief, 9 MLAs be a part of BJP at Amit Shah rally

Midnapore, December 19

Former Trinamool Congress (TMC) minister Suvendu Adhikari and nine MLAs, five of them from the TMC, joined the BJP on Saturday. Adhikari vowed to oust the Mamata Banerjee regime in the next polls. He was handed over the BJP flag by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at a rally in Paschim Medinipur district.

Shah claimed leaders of rival parties were joining the BJP because of TMC’s “politics of appeasement”. He was certain the BJP would win over 200 seats and form the next government in West Bengal.

Adhikari accused the TMC of being a party of traitors. “I am being called a traitor by those who themselves are traitors. Had the BJP not been there, the TMC would have never come into existence. Had the TMC not received the blessings of the then PM

(Vajpayee), none of the TMC leaders would have dared to step out of their homes for the polls,” he claimed.”
