New Delhi, January 2

Drug Controller General of India’s expert panel recommended Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin for restricted emergency use in the country.

This makes Covaxin the second vaccine to be recommended for use in India after Oxford-Astrazeneca’s Covishield.

The development comes a day after the Drug Controller of India approved Covishield, a vaccine that the Pune-based Serum Institute of India will manufacture for India.
