COVID-19: Punjab, Haryana amongst states with most deaths in 24 hrs


New Delhi, October 3

Punjab and Haryana were among the 10 states that accounted for 84.1 per cent of the 1,069 deaths over the past 24 hours, Health Ministry data showed.

While Punjab reported 50 fatalities, 23 deaths were witnessed in Haryana. With 424 deaths, Maharashtra led the high-fatality burden states, followed by Karnataka (125), Tamil Nadu (67), UP and Bengal (53 each), Delhi (37), MP (36) and Andhra Pradesh 31.

The recoveries, meanwhile, are being fuelled by 10 states that account for 74.36 per cent of all discharged patients. These are Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, UP, Kerala, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Delhi and West Bengal. — TNS
