Charu Sinha first lady to move CRPF in militancy-hit Srinagar

IPS officer Charu Sinha has turn out to be the primary lady commander to move the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) formation in militancy-affected Srinagar sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officers mentioned on Tuesday.

A celebrated Telangana-cadre officer of the 1996 batch, Sinha is seen in safety circles as a troublesome officer. She had efficiently performed a number of anti-Naxal operations in Bihar and her cadre state.

Appointed Inspector General (IG), she says it is going to be inappropriate to remark about her posting, insisting, “As always, I am looking forward to my new assignment.” Under her management, claims a senior CRPF official, varied anti-Naxals operations have been carried out within the two states. She was subsequently moved to delicate Jammu sector as IG the place she spent a profitable tenure.

Constituted in 2005, the Srinagar sector includes Budgam, Ganderbal and Srinagar districts and Ladakh UT. The CRPF works in tandem with the Army and the J&Okay Police throughout anti-terror operations.

The present CRPF Director-General, AP Maheshwari, was the primary IG to move the sector, which incorporates two ranges, 22 govt items and three Mahila firms.
