Chandigarh-Manali freeway was blocked at Jhiri in Mandi district due to an enormous landslide on Saturday night.
Numerous automobiles have been caught on either side at Jhiri. These automobiles have been both going to Kullu-Manali from Mandi or coming to Mandi from the Kullu aspect.
In final two days, incessant rains have lashed Mandi and Kullu districts, making the freeway liable to landslides. Four-laning of the freeway is below means, which is a serious reason behind landslides through the wet season.
The district administration Mandi has deployed its workforce and equipment within the area to clear the street however it’s going to take time to revive it.
In view of public security, visitors motion has been halted on this street until Sunday morning and visitors has been diverted for mild automobiles by way of Katola between Mandi and Kullu.
Mandi SP Gurdev Chand Sharma mentioned resulting from huge landslide at Jhiri, the Chandigarh-Manali freeway has been blocked for visitors motion until Sunday morning.
Police have been deployed from the Mandi aspect to divert the visitors by way of Katola between Mandi and Kullu.
