The UT administration has postponed a call on imposing a weekend curfew throughout tricity to test the Covid-19 unfold.
In a ‘war room’ assembly presided over by Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, VP Singh Badnore on Wednesday, it was felt that since Mohali and Panchkula haven’t agreed for a tricity closure on weekend, a recent view on this challenge shall be taken within the subsequent week.
The proposal was mentioned with docs, officers, merchants associations and political leaders.
UT Adviser Manoj Parida had earlier mentioned there was a view after dialogue with docs that since there was a scarcity of satisfactory compliance about social distancing and sporting a face masks, there was no choice however to go for a complete curfew on weekends within the tricity. Meanwhile, the Administrator directed that there should be strict implementation of social distancing and masks sporting in all public locations.
