Cases appear to have peaked in Delhi, says AIIMS chief

New Delhi, July 20

On a day when India’s Covid instances climbed to 11,18,043 with a document every day spike of 40,425 instances, New Delhi AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria mentioned the instances appeared to have peaked within the Capital.

For the primary time in seven weeks, Delhi reported lower than 1,000 new instances, Guleria mentioned. Delhi recorded 954 instances on Monday.

“The rest of the places will peak later,” he mentioned, ruling out group transmission at pan-India stage and sustaining that giant native outbreaks amenable to containment have been being witnessed.

Meanwhile, AIIMS has begun human trials for indigenous vaccine candidate Covaxin being developed with Bharat Biotech. — TNS
