Capt Amarinder, Navjot Singh Sidhu meet; talk about farmers’ agitation

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and his former cabinet colleague Navjot Singh Sidhu held an hour-long meeting at the former’s farmhouse in Siswan. Sidhu left for Amritsar after the meeting.

In a tweet shared by CM’s media advisor: “It was a warm & cordial luncheon meeting that saw CM @capt_amarinder and Navjot Singh Sidhu discuss a host of important political matters of Punjab and national interest. The two leaders spent a pleasant over an hour sharing thoughts on vital issues. @sherryontopp @INCIndia.”

Sources privy to the rapprochement between the two leaders said discussions were held on a host of political issues, including on taking forward the farmers’ agitation.

The meeting could soon see the reinduction of Sidhu into the state cabinet in the coming days. There could be a possible reshuffle of departments soon after Sidhu’s induction.

In the past, the two leaders had been cold-shouldering each other before rapprochement efforts between the two gained steam due to the intervention of Punjab affairs in-charge Harish Rawat.
