New Delhi, January 9
While Punjab and Haryana farmers hold on to the borders of Delhi, BJP president JP Nadda will shortly launch his party’s big farmer push in Bengal with the “Ek Mutthi Chawal Sangrah”, a state-wide door-to-door rice collection, from Jagadanandapur village in Bardhaman district, which is also known as “rice bowl of the state”.
Gobindobhog rice, a speciality from Bardhaman district, also has the geographical indication (GI) status.
Nadda, who started the day by offering prayers at Shri Radha Gobind Temple in Katwa, will also address ‘Krishok Surokkha’ Gram Sabha at Jagadanandapur. He will then have lunch with a farmer household, offer prayers at Sarbamangala Temple and hold a road show from Burdwan Clock Tower to Lord Curzon Gate.
