After Sonali Phogat, Jind BJP chief booked for assaulting MC official

A BJP chief was on Thursday booked for assulting an government officer (EO) of the Jind Municipal Corporation.

The chief, Jawahar Saini, is the husband of the MC chairperson Poonam Saini.

Police mentioned that SK Chauhan, EO, had lodged a criticism that Saini and MC member Harinder Saini visited his home on July 17, and requested him to signal sure paperwork and payments. The complainant mentioned that he refused to signal the papers as they weren’t so as. Chauhan alleged that the duo tried to pressure him to signal the papers at gunpoint. The accused additionally made casteist remarks towards him, Chauhan mentioned within the criticism.

Jind Civil traces Station home officer, Rajpal Singh, mentioned that police have registered a case beneath sections 186 (Obstructing public servant in discharge of public capabilities), 353 (Assault or legal pressure to discourage public servant from discharge of his responsibility) and 506 (legal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and began investigating the matter.

However, Chauhan demanded that related sections of the SC/ST Act even be added to the FIR because the accused had used casteist language. 

Another BJP chief, Sonali Phogat who was the get together candidate from Adampur meeting section in Hisar in the course of the 2019 state elections, kicked off a row after she assaulted a Market Committee secretary in a grain market in Balsamand village of Hisar on June 5. She is going through assault prices because the incident was captured on a cell phone and the video has since gone viral on social media.
