The Centre has in precept accepted the Bihar Government’s advice for a CBI probe into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s unnatural demise, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta instructed the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

“The matter is now in public domain,” Mehta instructed a Single Judge Bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy throughout listening to of a petition filed by actor Rhea Chakraborty in search of to switch an FIR registered towards her in Patna to Mumbai.

“Till the CBI takes over the investigation, the Mumbai Police should not do anything which will amount to destruction of evidence,” Mehta stated, including, “If allowed, we will release notification for CBI probe by the end of the day.”

Mehta stated the Centre ought to be allowed to be impleaded within the matter.

The Mumbai Police have been investigating the case since June 14 when Rajput (34) was discovered hanging from the ceiling of his condo in suburban Bandra within the western metropolis. 

Last week, Rajput’s father KK Singh filed the prison criticism in Patna towards Chakraborty and 6 others, together with her members of the family, accusing them of abetting the actor’s suicide. Rea needed the Patna case to be transferred to Mumbai.

The Bihar Government too filed a caveat in Rhea Chakraborty’s petition to help Rajput’s father within the prime court docket and to oppose her plea for switch of case filed in Patna to Mumbai.
