59 unlawful colonies detected in Yamunanagar

The Town and Country Planning Department has detected a document 59 unauthorised colonies within the district over the previous yr and a half.

Acting robust, the division has lodged 32 FIRs towards violators, together with colonisers and property sellers, for breaching the provisions of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975.

The unlawful colonies have been detected between December 6, 2018 and June 10, 2020. Comparatively, solely 75 unauthorised colonies have been detected in Yamunanagar district in 9 years between January 1, 2010 and December 5, 2018.

District Town Planner Amit Madholia mentioned that they had carried out demolition drives in 35 of the 59 colonies. “We have registered 39 police complaints, out of which FIRs have been lodged in 32 cases,” he mentioned.
