New Delhi, December 9
Five opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Sharad Pawar, on Wednesday met President Ram Nath Kovind seeking repeal of farm laws.
“We told the President that the three farm laws were passed undemocratically in Parliament. We have sought repeal of the laws,” Opposition leader Sitaram Yechury said.
We sought the repeal of farm laws during the meeting with the President, Rahul Gandhi said. “They were passed without any discussion,” he added.
“The way farm bills were passed, we feel it’s an insult to farmers. That’s why they are protesting in cold weather,” the Congress leader added.
We told the President it was critical that the farm laws were taken back, Gandhi said. PTI
