2 ultras killed, 3 Army males damage in gunfight

Two unidentified militants have been killed and three Army males injured in an operation in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district at the moment, the police mentioned.

The gunfight broke out between militants and the joint forces within the Arah space of the district on Saturday throughout a cordon and search operation (CASO) that was launched following an enter about militants’ presence.

“A CASO was launched around 11.30 am and contact with militants was established almost two hours later. In the initial gunfight, a militant was killed and three Army men were injured,” a police officer mentioned.

Soon after the preliminary firing, efforts have been made by the forces to make the opposite trapped militant give up.

“However, the militant resorted to firing on the forces. In the exchange of fire, another militant was killed,” the officer added. The identification of the slain militants couldn’t be established to date.
