The Batala police have arrested six individuals, together with two ASIs and a policeman deployed with the CM safety, for allegedly killing the relative of a girl excise inspector following a highway rage brawl in Bhagwanpurai village late on Sunday.
SSP Rachpal Singh, accompanied by senior officers, reached the spot and ordered the arrest of the accused after conducting a preliminary inquiry.
Those nabbed have been recognized as ASIs Ranjit Singh and Baljit Singh, each posted with the Amritsar metropolis visitors employees, Head Constables Avtar Singh and Balkar Singh, each doing obligation as gunmen with ADGP (retd) Parampal Singh Sidhu, Surinder Singh, a policeman deployed with CM safety, and Simrat Singh.
The accused have been travelling in two automobiles and wished to overhaul the automotive of Amarpreet Kaur, an excise inspector. The officer refused to disclose who was the policeman who truly shot the deceased.
“We are still investigating and will reveal more details soon,” mentioned the SSP.
