Facebook unveils AR glasses with ‘auditory superpowers’

Facebook has unveiled a brand new prototype of Augmented Reality (AR) glasses that amplify what the wearer goals to listen to and silence every little thing else round.

According to a report in The Next Web, the AR headset offers customers “perceptual superpowers”.

One prototype system is provided with headphones and microphones that seize surrounding sounds.

“It then tracks the movements of the user’s head and eye movement to work out what they’re trying to hear. This headset then enhances the sounds the user’s focused on, and turns the volume down on everything else,” in line with the report.

The social networking large has renamed its augmented actuality/digital actuality (AR-VR) group as Facebook Reality Labs as the corporate begins constructing the next-gen computing platform for deeper immersive experiences.

Previously, Facebook Reality Labs was the title given to its analysis division, which had traditionally been often known as Oculus Research.

The firm will organise its annual convention ‘Facebook Connect’ nearly on September 16 and will probably be free for everybody to attend.
