On Sunday, Ashwin withdrew from the IPL to support his family. Today, in a series of tweets, Prithi talked about the family’s troubles. “Feeling ok enough to croak a tiny hi to all of you. 6 adults and 4 children ended up testing+ the same week, with our kids being the vehicles of transmission — the core of my family, all down with the virus in different homes/hospitals. Nightmare of a week. 1 of 3 parents back home,” she tweeted, adding: “I guess physical health will recover faster than mental health. Everybody was there, offering help yet there’s no one with you. Without coach and foreign players, FC Goa bow out

FC Goa assistant coach Clifford Miranda has said he is “very proud” of the team despite the loss to top UAE team Al Wahda in their last AFC Champions League group stage match here last night. Goa were beaten 2-0 by Al Wahda in their final AFC Champions League match, and bowed out of the tournament. Owing to the Covid-19 situation, FC Goa were without the services of all their foreign players as well as head coach Juan Ferrando. “It is always difficult when you don’t have players who have been playing regularly for the past few games. However, it was an opportunity for the other players,” Miranda said. “I am very proud of these players that they played extremely well, they played to their maximum. Maybe with a little bit of luck here and there, we could have got a result but then we were up against one of the better teams in Asia who are several levels above us,” added Miranda. FC Goa finished third in Group E in their maiden appearance in the tournament thanks to three points from three draws. They avoided the wooden spoon, which went to Al Rayyan. TNS, Agencies
