Simranjeet enters boxing World Cup closing

Indian boxer Simranjeet Kaur stormed into the 60kg final of the World Cup in Cologne. Sonia Lather (57kg) set up a semifinal clash against compatriot Manisha. In the men’s section, Satish Kumar (+91kg) and Mohammed Hussamuddin (57kg) entered the semis.


New Zealand beat Pakistan by 5 wickets in 1st T20

Fast bowler Jacob Duffy took 4/33 on debut for New Zealand in the first T20I against Pakistan to set up the home team’s five-wicket win in the opener of the three-match series. The hosts restricted Pakistan to 153/9. Opener Tim Seifert made 57 to lead the chase.


Harendra takes one-shot lead at halfway stage
