Samson, Archer propel Royals to 216-7 towards CSK of their IPL opener

Rajasthan Royals scored a powerful 216 for 7 towards Chennai Super Kings of their IPL opener right here on Tuesday.

Sanju Samson smashed 74 off 32 balls whereas skipper Steven Smith scored 69 off 47 balls. Jofra Archer then clobbered 27 off eight balls with 4 sixes off Lungi Ngidi’s ultimate over that yielded 30 runs to push his group throughout the 200-mark.

Sam Curran with Three for 33 in 4 overs was probably the most profitable bowler for CSK.

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni gained the toss and elected to subject.

CSK missed the companies of Ambati Rayudu, who performed a pivotal function in group’s victory of their opening match towards defending champions Mumbai Indians on Saturday.

The skilled right-handed batsman was not 100 per cent and was changed by teen Ruturaj Gaekwad, who has recovered from Covid-19 an infection.
