Ramkumar bows out of French Open qualifiers

Ramkumar Ramanathan’s bid to qualify for his maiden Grand Slam singles most important draw fell flat after his straight set defeat towards French wild card Tristan Lamasine within the qualifiers of the French Open, right here.

The Indian Davis Cupper, ranked 198, misplaced 5-7 2-6 to lower-ranked Lamasine in a single hour and 27 minutes on Monday. The French is positioned 268 on the rating chart.

The 25-year-old Ramkumar was profligate as he squandered as many as seven of the eight breakpoints he earned. He misplaced his serve twice within the first spherical contest.

Country’s prime singles participant Sumit Nagal has already exited and now Prajnesh Gunneswaran is the lone Indian left within the males’s singles qualifying occasion.
