Pant, Ashwin in rivalry for brand new ICC awards

Dubai: India’s senior off-spinner R Ashwin and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant would be in contention for the newly-introduced player of the month awards announced by the International Cricket Council. Mohammed Siraj and T Natarajan are also in the fray. Meanwhile, India captain Virat Kohli and senior batsman Rohit Sharma retained their No. 1 and 2 positions, respectively, in the ICC rankings for ODI batsmen.
