Asian Games gold medallist Neeraj Chopra registered another big throw as he won his second gold medal in a fortnight. After his record-breaking throw of 88.07 metres at the Indian Grand Prix-3 earlier this month, the 23-year-old hurled the javelin to 87.80 metres to win gold at the National Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships in Patiala today.
Haryana’s Yashvir Singh (79.31m) and Uttar Pradesh’s Rohit Yadav (78.88m) finished second and third, respectively.
Meanwhile, it was a Punjab sweep in the men’s shot put event as Asian Games gold medallist Tajinderpal Singh Toor exhibited his dominance by taking the gold in style.
